About us
The inception of Designer decor came along with the birth of our first born, a beautiful baby girl named Emily Grace. The desire to give her a bedroom, a restful safe place, a sanctuary that was perfectly her was a challenge, particularly when it came to her first bed.
Her first word being “flower” and a love that would eventually have her persuing a career as a floral designer it was aparent that anything flower would be a winner.
I had my heart set on an upholstered bedhead but making a commitment to such a bold floral statement made me nervous. The search continued for months. Until one evening watching my favourite programme Better Homes and Gardens where the designer was demonstrating how to make a bedhead. It was a beautiful floral patterned cutout design, so with a sheet of MDF and jigsaw in hand I set out to make my first bedhead.
Pleasantly surprised with the result and lots of compliments on my handy-work followed by requests to make more a career in designing bedheads and bedroom decor was born.
These days Designer decor’s designs are drawn electronically, cut by laser into various materials and if needed sprayed painted in a hard wearing polyurethane paint giving a perfect finish.
